Overview

Sendy is a self-hosted newsletter application: you buy a licence once, install it on your own web server, and connect it to Amazon SES, which delivers the email. Because SES charges very little per message, the running cost of a large newsletter is mostly your hosting.

Features include drag-and-drop, WYSIWYG and HTML editors, list segmentation, custom fields, autoresponders for drip sequences and date-based emails, rules and webhooks, automatic bounce and complaint handling, custom tracking domains, housekeeping to remove inactive subscribers, and reports on opens, clicks and locations.

Agencies can organise work into brands with white-labelled client access, their own pricing and sending limits. An optional AI assistant can draft templates and subject lines. Zapier and third-party plugins connect it to WordPress and other apps.

You are responsible for installing, securing and updating the app, and for your SES account's sending reputation.
