Overview
Mailgun is an email delivery platform for developers: send through an HTTP API or SMTP, receive mail through inbound routes, and track delivery, opens and clicks with webhooks. One account can send through US or EU infrastructure, so data can stay in the region you choose.
The Free plan allows 100 emails a day with a single domain and one day of logs, which is enough to wire up an app but little else. Basic ($15, 10,000 emails) removes the daily cap. Foundation ($35, 50,000 emails) is where most production apps land: 1,000 sending domains, templates, full inbound routing and five days of logs. Scale ($90, 100,000 emails) adds SAML SSO, dedicated IP pools, send-time optimization, phone support and 30 days of logs.
Log retention is short on the lower plans (one day on Free and Basic), so debugging older sends needs Foundation or above. Email validation and the Optimize deliverability suite are separate products with their own charges.
