Overview

Tailwind Plus is the commercial product from the makers of Tailwind CSS. It was called Tailwind UI until 4 March 2025, when it was rebranded without a price change or subscription. It contains three things: UI Blocks (500+ marketing, application UI and e-commerce components in HTML, React and Vue), Templates (site templates such as Salient, Spotlight, Radiant, Protocol and Oatmeal built with React and Next.js), and Catalyst, a React application UI kit built with Tailwind CSS that you customise as your own component system.

In July 2025 every UI block became fully interactive in plain HTML too, through a vanilla JavaScript library (Tailwind Plus Elements), so dialogs, dropdowns and command palettes no longer needed React or Vue. The licence allows unlimited end products, including client work and paid SaaS, but not redistributing the components, building UI kits or website builders from them.

The important current fact is availability. On 9 September 2026 Adam Wathan announced that Tailwind Labs is joining Shopify; Tailwind CSS and the open-source projects continue, but the company is no longer growing the commercial business and is closing sign-ups for new customers of Tailwind Plus and ui.sh. Existing buyers keep their access. New projects should plan on free alternatives such as shadcn/ui, Flowbite or daisyUI.

The product page still lists Personal at $299 and Teams at $979 as one-time payments plus local taxes, but Tailwind Labs announced on 9 September 2026 that it is closing sign-ups for new customers after joining Shopify, so it may not be possible to buy. Existing customers keep access. fromPrice is empty because prices are one-time and the product is closed to new buyers.
