React component suite (commercial licence from v11) · by PrimeTek Informatics

§1

Overview

PrimeReact is one of PrimeTek's UI suites (alongside PrimeVue for Vue and PrimeNG for Angular), with 80+ components including an advanced DataTable, tree table, charts, editors, overlays and form inputs. Version 11 is built in layers: a headless hooks layer, primitives, styled components with design-token presets (Aura, Lara, Nora, Material) and a Tailwind mode.

The licensing changed in mid-2026. PrimeTek announced PrimeUI, a unified licence for PrimeNG, PrimeReact and PrimeVue: all existing MIT versions stay MIT, but PrimeReact 11 and later are distributed as compiled npm packages under a commercial licence and are no longer open source. License checks work offline; a missing or invalid key may show a licence notice.

The free Community licence covers individuals and organisations under all of these limits: fewer than 5 developers, fewer than 10 employees, less than $1M annual revenue and under $3M in outside capital; public-sector and educational institutions are excluded. Everyone else needs the Commercial Suite at $599 per developer (launch price through 2026, $799 from 2027), which also includes PrimeBlocks, the template catalog, Theme Designer, Figma kit and PrimeUI PRO components such as Scheduler and Task Board.

Pricing and plans

Free tier · no card

PrimeUI Community licence: free for individuals and for organisations with fewer than 5 developers, fewer than 10 employees, under $1M revenue and under $3M outside funding; renewed yearly. PrimeReact 10 and earlier stay MIT.

At the limit Not stated The vendor does not say what happens at the limit, or we have not found it yet.

Plan Price What you get
Community Free Eligible individuals and small organisations, up to 4 developer seats, yearly re-confirmation
Commercial (per developer) $599 one time Launch price to 31 Dec 2026, then $799; perpetual with 1 year of updates, $399/dev/yr to extend
Commercial Site Custom No seat cap
PRO components standalone $399-$799 per developer Scheduler $799, Text Editor $499, Charts $399, Task Board $399

PrimeUI Commercial is a perpetual per-developer licence rather than a subscription, so fromPrice is empty; update access after year one costs $399 per developer per year. Public-sector bodies, universities and government-funded organisations are not eligible for Community regardless of size. OEM redistribution is a separate annual licence. Existing MIT versions (PrimeReact 10 and earlier) remain free but PrimeTek will not release them as open source going forward.

Strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Very broad component set for data-heavy apps
  • Same vendor across React, Vue and Angular
  • Paid support with a 1 business day response on Commercial
  • Free for individuals and small companies

Limitations

  • PrimeReact 11+ is no longer open source; source for new releases is not public
  • Organisations over the Community limits must pay per developer
  • Community keys must be renewed every 12 months by confirming eligibility
  • Staying on MIT means staying on PrimeReact 10 without new PrimeTek releases
§5

Who it suits

Good for

  • Enterprise and internal apps needing advanced tables and forms
  • Companies wanting a supported, commercially licensed suite
  • Small teams that qualify for the free Community licence

Look elsewhere if

  • Teams that require open-source licences for dependencies
  • Mid-size companies unwilling to pay per developer

Questions

Is PrimeReact still free?

PrimeReact 10 and earlier remain MIT. PrimeReact 11+ is free only under the Community licence for eligible individuals and small organisations.

How much does a PrimeReact commercial licence cost?

PrimeUI Commercial is $599 per developer at the launch price through 2026 and $799 from 2027, perpetual with one year of updates.

Does PrimeReact phone home to check the licence?

PrimeTek says verification is offline-first; applications do not contact PrimeTek servers at runtime.
