Overview
Vultr, the independent cloud provider, offers S3-compatible Object Storage in five tiers: Archival, Standard, Premium, Performance and Accelerated. Each is a monthly subscription that includes 1 TB of storage and 1 TB of outbound transfer, priced from $6 (Archival) to $100 (Accelerated). Additional storage is billed per GB at the tier's rate, from $0.006 to $0.10.
Extra outbound transfer costs $0.01 per GB, and neither inbound transfer nor API requests are billed, so costs depend on capacity and egress alone. Standard at $18 per TB is aimed at bulk data and backups; Premium and Performance add throughput for application data; Accelerated targets write-heavy workloads; Archival is for data accessed less than once a month.
Storage hubs are in 14 locations, including Amsterdam, London and Milan in Europe, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney and several US cities, and are reachable from Vultr's 33 compute regions. Lifecycle policies can move objects into the archival tier.
Because every tier starts with a 1 TB bundle, Vultr is better value when you store close to a terabyte or more; for a few gigabytes, even the $6 Archival tier costs more than free-tier providers.
