Overview
Scaleway, a French cloud provider, offers S3-compatible Object Storage in Paris, Amsterdam and Warsaw. There are three classes: Standard Multi-AZ, which spreads data across availability zones with a 99.9% availability SLA; Standard One Zone at half the price; and Glacier, a cold class for archives that must be restored before reading.
Prices are listed per GB-hour. Standard Multi-AZ works out at about €0.016 per GB-month, One Zone about €0.008, and Glacier about €0.0025, with Glacier restores at €0.009 per GB. API requests and ingress are included at no charge, and transfer between Scaleway's regions is free. Egress to the internet is free for the first 75 GB each month and €0.01 per GB after that.
Features include object lock, versioning, lifecycle rules that move objects to Glacier, and three encryption options (SSE-C, SSE-ONE and SSE-KMS). Scaleway positions the service as sovereign European storage for personal data, backups (with Veeam and Terraform support), media and data lakes.
Watch the billing granularity: any started GB-hour is charged, so very small or short-lived objects cost a little more than the headline rate suggests.
