Overview
Orb is a billing platform built for usage-based and hybrid pricing. It ingests events through an API or S3 at volumes it cites as 250,000+ events per second, lets you define billable metrics in SQL, and combines usage, fixed fees and seats in one plan.
Orb Invoicing handles invoice delivery, payment collection and dunning; threshold billing can invoice a customer once they reach a set spend to limit non-payment risk. Versions and migrations let you move many subscriptions to new prices while keeping legacy plans.
All three tiers (Core, Advanced, Enterprise) are sold by quote. Advanced adds warehouse sync, Salesforce and NetSuite, and parent-child customer billing; Enterprise adds SLAs. Customers named on the site include Stytch and LaunchDarkly.
Because pricing is custom, Orb fits companies that already know their billing is complex enough to justify a dedicated platform. Tax is handled through integrations with Avalara, Anrok, Numeral, Sphere, Stripe Tax or TaxJar.
