Overview

New Relic offers APM with distributed tracing, infrastructure monitoring, log management, browser and mobile monitoring, synthetic checks, error tracking, serverless and AI/LLM monitoring in a single platform with 780+ integrations. Data is queried with NRQL, its SQL-like language.

It does not charge per host. The bill has two parts: data ingested beyond a free 100 GB a month ($0.40/GB) and user seats. Basic users, who can view dashboards and alerts, are free; full platform users cost $10 for the first and $99 for each additional user on Standard (up to five), or $349 each on Pro with an annual commitment.

For a solo developer the free tier is one of the most generous in the category: one full user, 100 GB a month and all capabilities. The catch is that hitting 100 GB stops ingestion and platform access until you add a card or the month resets. For larger teams the per-seat cost of full users drives the bill, so decide who really needs full access.

Data beyond the free 100 GB costs $0.40/GB (original) or $0.60/GB (Data Plus, with longer retention and compliance options). Basic users are free; core users are $49 each. Pro and Enterprise can switch to compute-based pricing (CCUs) with no user fees, priced by quote. The EU data center and extended retention are offered as add-ons or bundles. On the free tier, ingest and platform access stop when 100 GB is exceeded until you upgrade or the month resets.
