Overview
GlitchTip is an open-source error tracker built by a small consulting company as a simpler, cheaper alternative to Sentry. It accepts events from Sentry's open-source client SDKs, so switching is usually a DSN change. It groups exceptions and log messages, and also records Content Security Policy violations.
Alongside errors it has simple performance monitoring that lists your slowest requests and database calls without dashboard building, uptime monitoring that pings your site or waits for heartbeats, and log search next to errors.
Self-hosting is its main appeal: it needs far fewer services than self-hosted Sentry. The hosted version is flat-priced by monthly events with unlimited members, from free (1,000 events) to $250 for 3 million, and every plan can run on the German EU instance.
