Overview
Descope is a customer identity platform whose main idea is Flows: a drag-and-drop editor where you assemble sign-up, login, MFA, SSO and step-up journeys, style the screens, and change them later without touching your codebase. SDKs and APIs are available for teams that prefer code, and the platform also targets partner identity and authorization for AI agents and MCP servers.
The Free Forever plan includes 7,500 monthly active users, 10 active tenants, three SSO connections, RBAC, fine-grained authorization, SCIM and the admin widgets, with no Descope watermark. Its limits are hard caps: there are no overages, so hitting them means upgrading.
Paid plans are a big step: Pro starts at $249 a month and Growth at $799 a month, both billed annually, with usage overages. Pro adds a custom domain, SOC 2 reports and a 99.99% SLA; Growth adds bot protection, anonymous users, multi-region data residency, a HIPAA BAA and FedRAMP High deployments. Startups can apply for a free year of Pro.
