Overview
Amplify Hosting is the managed frontend host inside AWS. You connect a Git repository; each push builds on a managed instance and deploys to Amazon CloudFront's 600+ points of presence. Next.js and Nuxt server-side rendering are supported with zero configuration, and every pull request or branch can get its own environment.
There is no permanent free plan and no seat pricing. You pay $0.01 per build minute on the standard instance, $0.15 per GB served, $0.023 per GB stored per month, and $0.30 per million SSR requests plus $0.20 per GB-hour of SSR duration. AWS's own example puts a site with 10,000 daily users at about $66 a month, almost all of it bandwidth. New AWS accounts get 12 months of free usage and up to $200 in credits.
Amplify's backend side is a set of other AWS services (Cognito for auth, AppSync for APIs, DynamoDB for data, Lambda for functions, S3 for files), each billed on its own terms. That gives you the whole AWS toolbox, but also AWS billing and IAM complexity.
