Overview
jsDelivr is a free public CDN for open-source projects, operating since 2012. Any package on npm or repository on GitHub can be loaded by URL, such as cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/package@version/file, with version ranges, automatic .min generation, directory listings and default-file resolution. esm.run builds modern JavaScript modules on demand.
Instead of one network, jsDelivr load-balances between Cloudflare, Fastly, Bunny and Gcore plus its own servers, choosing a provider per user based on recent performance and availability data. It uses two independent DNS providers and multiple origin data centres, and has locations near China for lower latency there. It reports over 150 billion requests and 5,000 TB a month.
A free API returns package metadata, entry points and download statistics per project, version and file. jsDelivr is not a place to host your own site or private assets; for that, use a regular CDN.
For production use, pin an exact version in the URL; omitting the version returns the latest release, which jsDelivr itself advises against for production sites.
