The short answer

For plain uptime checks, UptimeRobot’s free plan is larger: 50 monitors at 5-minute intervals and a basic status page, with commercial use allowed, but no teammate seats and only five integrations. Better Stack’s free tier has 10 monitors at 3-minute checks and one status page, plus 100,000 exceptions and 3 GB each of logs and traces kept for 3 days.

Paid plans are shaped differently. UptimeRobot sells by monitor count and interval: Solo lists $11 a month on annual billing (10 monitors, 60-second checks), Team $39 (100 monitors, 30 seconds, 3 seats) and Scale $83 (200 monitors, 15 seconds); SMS and voice alerts use credits. Better Stack charges $29 a month per Responder seat on yearly billing, with unlimited phone and SMS alerts and on-call scheduling, and bills logs, traces and metrics by volume, from $25 a month in Europe.

UptimeRobot does not do APM, logs or error tracking. Better Stack does, and its error tracking accepts Sentry SDKs.

Strengths	50 free monitors, more than most free uptime plans. Simple setup with a mobile app and public status pages. Many check types including DNS, UDP and heartbeats. Paid tiers are clearly priced by monitor count and interval.	Uptime, status page, on-call and logs in one bill instead of three or four tools. Free tier with 10 monitors and a status page suits side projects. Unlimited phone and SMS alerts included per responder. Error tracking works with existing Sentry SDKs, so switching needs no code rewrite.
